Can I connect my 8 Pin GPU connector into my 8 pin ATX Socket?

Hello. I have a Corsair CX600 and a Asus Q87M-E 4th gen Motherboard. There is a 6+2=8pin connector for my gpu coming out from psu..... I was thinking that what will happen if I connect 6+2=8pin gpu connector into my 8pin atx socket on my mobo.


Note: my 4+4=8pin atx connector coming out from psu is not working correctly, that's why I asked this question.

Totally different pinout , will kill the board or psu or maybe both.

If your PSU is already not working, I would replace it.
