I would like to where I can plug the molex splitter cable for my case fans into my modular power supply. Would it be ok to plug the 8 pin splitter into the 8 pin Cpu PCI-E slot on my power supply. I apologize if this is confusing, I am somewhat of a noob to computers. Thanks!

Hello... Your Power supply has 5 volt and 12 volt power for Fans... But your Fans will run at one speed only, and you can get a 12vdc fan to run at about half the speed using the 5 volt power... this keeps them nice and quiet as a "Quiet PC" option.
The PCI-E connector will have +12vdc and GND Pins available... But do not just plug your FANs into a plug without really knowing how the plug is wired... take off the cover of your PS housing and Look.
Yellow wires are +12Vdc
Red Wires are +5Vdc
Black is common/GND
Pins in a Plug can be removed from the back, using, finding, the metal tang on the PIN to "unlatch it" ( push-in tang )... then you can move The Pins/Wires around to match the Plug on your Power supply.
There are 2-wire, 3-wire...

There are 2-wire, 3-wire, 4-wire types of fans.
A 4-wire fan is meant to be connected to a variable speed controller only.
The 2-wire, *3-wire types can be connected directly to a PS... * Don't connect the TACH wire, ONLY two, the +12vdc and GND.

Take a look at your mortarboard manual to locate on board fan headers if you want to connect more fans then use one of them and a splitter to connect a fan. Your fan need 12V supply to run.
