my monitor (a relatively old flatscreen) has a d-sub input ..... so does the gtx 970 also have a d-sub port so that i can connect them both?

thanks and regards

Solution
well i'll assume you got the factory cable ? the has d-sub on both ends ?? one goes into the monitor and one in a card now the msi has the adaptor in its box as seen here in the box contents pictures

there are 4 msi 970's but all come with the adaptor according to newegg [picture 4]

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127833

so I would assume you hook the factory monitors cord in to the back of the monitor and then the adaptor to the card and plug the cord in and it all should work

with anything nothing is 100% guaranteed but I see no reason why it should not ??

if you look here at page 7 at how they show to hook up MAC [''B''] that will be how it will be just like that but not for a MAC...

which ports does the 970 have ?

or can i get a hdmi to vga converter

no vga /d-sub is analog and hdmi is digital only unless you invest in a active adaptor and no guarantees there [like 20-45 bucks]

dvi-''I'' that's on NVidia cards will carry and support analog dvi-''D'' like on most higher end AMD cards is also digital only .

so like me I use that adaptor like shown above from new egg to connect from the cards dvi-''I'' to my older crt monitors witch use a vga/d-sub cord

best to let us know what monitor you got to use so we can look at its specs to see whats the better way to go about things ?? and also what 970 card your interested in cause that adaptor should come in the box with the card

MONITOR LG W1943S (outdated xD)
GPUMSI 970 4GD5T (not OCed)

Anyway if i use the 970 on this monitor @1366x768 with vga to dvi i HOW WILL THE QUALITY OF GRAFIX BE
