I don't understand what you are trying to do. If you are trying to use your laptop display as a monitor for your desktop PC, no you probably can't do that without some hacking of the electronics.

Aye, that's exactly what I am trying to do. Without passing through a monitor but connecting directly the laptop to the PC.

Some laptops have video inputs, but they're not very common. I know some of the older alienwares had them.
