Does your motherboard has any configuration utility as to what goes to these 3.5mm (red, green, blue) ports? Usually, red port is input-only (microphone).

nope there is no config but MB official site show off their sound compatibility with 7.1 surround sounds... that's what I think to connect it with my 5.1 home theater
