Router TP link WR840N working as range extender

Can I connect my desktop pc with this range extender through ethernet cable?

It should work if you don't use the WAN port (Blue port), should just treat it like a wifi switch with 4 eithernet ports.

But as mentioned above, it will still be slow as its an old router, it will do the job to get internet to something that has no wifi, you would be better off getting a cheap tp-link archer t3u, its plug in play with windows AC1300, works well, I bought about 30 of these in bulk for clients, they go for about 20 bucks or cheaper on some stores, much faster than that router, I give them away when I resell PC's with no wifi, They don't work well with Linux though, requires a bunch of fiddling around with in the terminal.

Though doesn't have to be tp-link, there are other brands, I just hate ones that need drivers that windows can't find, I like plug n play.

Good Luck
