Can i connect two speakers to one channel car smp

Hello, my name is James, I picked up a second hand preciosn power 4 ohm amp but found out one channel is bad. I have two Rockford Fosgate 6×9 4 ohm speakers. Should I run the two 6x9 in parallel or series to the one good channel on the amp. Thanks

You risk less problems running them in series, but it's really not the correct way to go, but I imagine you know this.

You can run them in series but since you will still be getting only the right or left channel out of both.
If you run them in parallel the amp will either blow up the working channel, blow a fuse or go into protection, Not good outcomes.

Thanks so much, honestly I will end up just purchasing another amp but in the meantime just wanted to get some perspective. I picked up the amp second hand but the speakers are brand new and I don't want to damage them. I assume you would recommend but picking up another amp and solving the problem that way.

Well....your ultimate solution is to get a working amp that works on both channels.

...but hooking them in series for now won't damage them unless you crank the hell out of them....and I'm not sure your amp can even do that.

Thanks man, appreciate the perspective. Will use it for now until I get this lock on my trunk fixed . Then I will pick up a new amp.
