can i copy my windows from my hdd to my ssd?

i am getting a ssd dont really want to lose all of my 14 games can i just take the windows on hdd and copy to ssd and would 120gig ssd be able to store windows?

You can only do this if you have used less than about 100Gb on your current HDD. You have to copy the whole drive, you can't copy just Windows. Windows will happily fit on 120Gb with a few other small programs. I

"Copy" ? No, not like you're thinking.
Clone, maybe.

1. Have you bought this drive yet? If not, get a 250GB instead
2. How much actual used space is on the current C drive?
3. Do you have another drive, with some free space on it?

You should use the SSD makers tools for that. A copy will not work as it has to be cloned or in a way you cant. You should shrink your volume to make room for your games and such on a second partition in disk manager. Get your boot size down to 120GB then clone to the SSD. You can then link to your games directory in a few ways. I suggest a 275GB Curcial MX300.

i only have 120gb out of my tb most used by games
it will take a long time because i only get 20 mbps the avarage for the area is 1-2 mbps what is s**t

You have a 120GB SSD
If you truly only have ~120GB actual used space (how did you determine this?), then a cloning operation might be in order.

Install and run WinDirStat.
Post a screencap of the output here.

1. Get a 250GB SSD instead (or reduce your actual used space to below 90GB)
2. Clone from the old drive to the new SSD
3. Done.

Cloning steps here:

Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration)
Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive
Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it finishes, power off
Disconnect ALL drives except for the new SSD
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is connected to the same SATA port as the old drive
Power up, and verify the BIOS boot order
If good, continue the power up

It should boot from the new drive, just like the old drive.
Maybe reboot a time or two, just to make sure.

If it works, and it should, all is good.

Later, reconnect the old drive and wipe as necessary.

Yes, you could reinstall the OS on the new drive.
This means you also have to reinstall everything else.
Drivers, applications, etc, etc.

Your Steam games are probably OK. You just have to tell the new Steam client where they live on the old drive.
