I got an HP omen 17 with a gtx 1070, it has a 4k gsync monitor, but problem is , it does not have a 1440P resolution on It, i wonder if i create a 2560 x 1440 resolution,it won t damage my monitor, when i tried to do it , a tab poped up telling me doing this will stop my warranty if any bad thing happens.
I really would like to play the latest games @1440P, coz 4k is gd looking but lots of inpacts on performance.
So 1440P might be a gd balance between 1080P and 2160P

you can do 2 things.
1, you can right-click on you desktop and go to "screen resolutions", from here go to resolution and from here you can chanche it to the diffrent presets for said monitor.
2, you can also go to the in-game settings and chanche the resolution to a lower, well, resolution.
btw, gaming on a laptop isn't the best. while gameing there will be a lot of heat generated by the processor and gpu which not only means the cpu and gpu are gonne thermalthrotle, meaning a performanc hit, but i can also decrease the lifespan of your hardware.
the battery will suffer the most as you will mostlikely be playing with your laptop plugged in to the wall. i've had this with my laptop (it is not a gameming laptop but can play some easy to run games) but i played plugged in as performance was better but this killed my battery afther 4 years. luckaly mine is easaly replacable so it now has a better battery then before :).

Problem is , i can t select the 2560 x 1440, it does not exist, i m asking if i can safely create it as a custom resolution

I suggest going to the video or graphics settings in the games your playing and lowering the resolution from there. that way your gpu has less trouble rendering the frames meaning a boost in FPS.
