Can I crossfire R7 260x + R9 280x

I have a R7 260x card, and want to upgrade it to R9 280x. Is it possible if I have both cards that I can run them in crossfire? I've been looking and I can't seem to find an answer. On a chart I found, it basically said you can only crossfire two like cards, but I think this is wrong. Thanks for answering!

No you cant has to be the same card.

"The manufacture can be different but it must be the same series card. HD 79xx + 79xx= works. 79xx + 78xx= won't work. One thing to keep in mind is if they are different clock speeds the faster one will down clock to the slower card. "

what dunlop says... either buy another 260x for crossfire or single 280x and sell the 260x to sponsor yourself for a later other 280x...
