Can I crossfire same card but different branding?

Is it possible if I can crossfire two different branded gpu? I currently have the XFX Radeon R9 280x 3gb TDFD and I was gonna buy the sapphire dual radeon r9 280x 3gb. Can I crossfire these cards? Is it better to crossfire the same brands like XFX with XFX?

I am getting a triple monitor setup. Is it better to crossfire my radeon R9 280x (keep in mind I have to probably buy 750 w psu) or buy a whole new graphics card. I don't have a very much money, >$350

You just need to crossfire same cards, no need for diffrent Brands!
Just go for same cards

There's not problem mixing the brands together. Only trouble you'll face is that different manufactures makes different overclocks to their GPUs. example

your XFX card has a GPU clock of 850Mhz while MSI one has 870 Mhz.
When you mix such cards, the faster one will downclock to match the lower clocked card.

Other than that there's no problem mixing.

From what I know, amd allows you to crossfire with any card with the same architecture. You can mix and match ram amounts, brands, and clock speeds. I believe this video will answer some of your questions.
