Probably not wise. Wait until Windows does all it's things (including any required restarts). You may not have any issues with it, but probably just not worth taking the chance if you can wait an hour or two.

It's best to let Windows do its updating uninterrupted, so as to reduce the chance of a failed update.

Why are you updating to version 1709, that doesn't make any sense. Just update to version 1803 since you will have to do it that anyway.

And then it jumps to 96%, and reboots...killing off your precious game download.

Go do something else for a while.
