Hi, I have a Cooler from a Lga 1155 motherboard, can I fit the cooler on a Lga 1151 motherboard from Msi?

Solution
You should be able to. The mounting spaces are the same. Even something from the ancient S775 should fit and work.

There is the question of capacitity however. Not all coolers are the same. For example, if you are using a stock i3 cooler which only has to cool a 65W chip at most on an i7 with a 95W TDP, you could have issues. You need to make sure the cooler has the ability to cool the new chip. Not just that it fits.

Actually, LGA 1150, 1151, 1155, all use the same holes to set the cooler. So, the answer is yes. The cooler from the LGA 1155 can fit the LGA 1151.

To know the detailed comparison between LGA 1151 and LGA 1155, check herehttps://minitipsx.com/lga-1151-vs-1155/.
