I have several Big DIN AT keyboards that died while I was testing them on a 286 computer. I have not tried retesting on another system yet, as I'm not sure what might happen. Depending on the problem, is it going to be possible to fix what might have happened? A couple of them died when I connected them to the computer which was already running. The others died while I was in the middle of testing them. I also had one die when I did a Restart on the computer. Is there some kind of flaw in these older Keyboards? Thanks for any help or ideas....

Solution
Those PS2 ports and also older variants didn't supported hot swap like modern usb based keyboards, so the keyboard had to be plugged in before boot and not being unplugged until after the computer was shut down.
