Can I fix just a key without replacing the keyboard?

Hi, I have a Cougar 600k (Cherry MX Red) which the "R" key started behaving oddly. How do I know its a switch issue and how can I fix just this key without replacing the keyboard?

it probably is a switch issue, and it may be possible to just replace it. A web search for *keyboard brand and mode* switches should get you started, or just buy a standard MX key switch and try that.
