Can I fix my monitor?

So I have an Asus VG248QE and I dont think it's under warranty. I literally have anger problems and I take anti depressants to subdue them but they don't always work. I was playing For Honor and the game is so broken that I got angry and punched my monitor. Now there is a big black spot right above where I hit it and a massive white spot in the middle and the top right half is black and there's lines everywhere. Is it salvageable? How much would it cost to repair?

A picture would probably help to diagnose something like this but I honestly doubt this can be fixed in a cost effective manner. Meaning it's probably easier to just cut your loses, learn from this and get a new monitor.

3/4 the value new for Asus, there is nothing on eBay or Amazon for LCD parts but with some patients something might turn up.

It sounds like you busted the panel up nicely.

I can reasonably agree with the others and say it would cost more to repair than it would to buy a new monitor.

There's the link for the picture. I put it earlier but I guess it didn't post. The monitor is about 300 right now would it really be worth it to just buy another one instead of fixing it?

Why would you ever think a warranty would cover this? It's hardly a manufacturing defect that it wasn't punch resistant.

Surprisingly, homeowner's or renter's insurance actually may cover it, as technically you vandalized or performed malicious mischief on your own property, and it replaces with new equivalent, not depreciated value. However the deductible is likely more than the monitor.

And why would you think antidepressants help with anger? They actually increase the suicide rate of people on them, as they make people feel better and energized enough to take decisive action. Likewise they may allow angry people to act out their impulses.

Yeah sorry bud, that's cracked glass. It's basically the most expensive part of the monitor, not worth repairing.

Also guys, this is the fourth time I've broken a monitor in this fashion so I don't think it's possible to learn from this.

So would a replacement panel not work if I could replace it myself?

The monitor is unfixable for less than the price of new, unless somehow you can buy the new panel and install it yourself. Look for some youtube videos showing the process to see if it's something you would be comfortable attempting, and remember there's no guarantee you'll be successful at it, while a new monitor always works.

If your going to keep breaking monitors maybe you should look at a projector, drywall is cheaper to replace than a monitor.
