Can I flash an Asus P9X79 Deluxe and with a Asus X79 Deluxe BIOS

Newbie here!

I am writing from an Asus P9X79 Deluxe custom PC I built several years ago. I am trying to update the BIOS to the latest version to try to address some hardware incompatibility issues. My current BIOS is version 4801 (Beta) release back in 2014. Here's my board:

I googled for the latest BIOS and found version 4805:

https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/X79DELUXE/

I assume I landed on my MOBO page. The specs appear identical and it even uses the same ASM1042 USB controller! The only difference is the missing P9 prefix on the model name and the gold anodized heatsinks instead of blue.

This leaves me with a few questions:

1. Are the two boards identical? Can I flash my BIOS with 4805?
2. The X79 Deluxe was release well after my motherboard. Why did ASUS do this? Was there a recall exchange I missed out on?
3. Why does my motherboard still cost as much as I paid for it in used condition? Why would anyone want to buy an X79 instead of the newer boards? I've never owned a machine that didn't become obsolete at least within 2 years!

Thank you in advance for all your help!
