Question Can i force Turbo Boost? i7-6700k with old mainboard (MSI B250M PRO-VDH)

I have just found out that i can't overclock my i7-6700K on my old motherboard (MSI B250M PRO-VDH). So now it stays at 4GHz and the Turbo gets it up to 4.2GHz for a very short amount of time. But only when the GPU's are not under heavy load. Is it possible to force them into Turbo Boost mode to 4.2GHz even under 100% load? Are there programms for that?

It only goes to 4.2ghz when 1 core is being used. The only way to have max turbo speeds on all cores is enhanced turbo. This is a bios setting and a loophole in the turbo code. If it doesn't have it, you can't but .2ghz is not even worth the trouble if it wasn't that easy.

Ok, thanks! And would it be really worth it for me to get a new motherboard to overclock to 4.5GHz? I want to do a lot of modding on skyrimvr (got a GTX 1080 Ti).

Maybe if you can get one really cheap. Did you not find enhanced turbo?
