Yes you can game on it but be warned Education versions of windows have time limits. It's cheaper because the license is only good for a certain amount of time. When it expires you have to buy a new key.

You can absolutely game on Window EDU version. I'm running it myself. As for time limitations on the license, check with your school for licensing information. On my campus there isn't a time limit or install limit on the EDU version, but your campuses license agreements may be different.
