Can i get a new case for my Lenovo m91p, but swap the motherboard?

I would like to use a none slim profile case (normal size case) but would like to upgrade my motherboard so i can add & upgrade later. And can i still use all of the components e.g. ssd,ram,power supply. is this realistic and safe?

PSU I guess external or low wattage: probably non reusable
DDR3 memory: reusable depending on the generation of the new motherboard you're upgrading to
SSD = reusable

You'll be practically doing an almost complete new build, trying to maintain compatibility with older components of your present desktop would only restrain your choices.
