Question Can I get faster than 2400 Mhz with i3 9100F?

Regarding the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15 Desktop Memory Kit - Black (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) - I'm looking to use this memory along with the Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro Wifi motherboard. This memory is listed in the board's Qualified Vendor List (QVL) as supported.

I know that the i3 9100F has some limitations on memory speed. If I use this memory and motherboard with the i3 9100F, and choose the XMP profile in the BIOS, will the memory still be down-clocked to 2400Mhz, or will it still run at 3000Mhz, or maybe something in between? If it will be down-clocked to 2400Mhz I might as well buy the 2400Mhz itself which is a bit cheaper.

For reference this memory is here: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-3000MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B0134EW7G8

Please let me know. Thank you.

It will run at 3000mhz as that is what the motherboard support.

Thank you. I've read that in some situations the higher speed memory is a waste if the CPU cannot support that speed. I already read that the i3 chip is limited to 2400Mhz. So you are saying that despite that it'll still work at 3000Mhz? In what situation then can a CPU become the limiting factor?

The speeds are determined by the motherboard, as for the memory impacting the CPU I would think that would be anything under the recommended speed for the CPU but I doubt it would even be noticeable at least for Intel. With Intel, for example, going from 2133 to 3200 at the most may be like a 5 FPS difference. AMD Ryzen on the other hand could be over 20 FPS difference.

RT, did you end up setting up the i3 with the vengeance? I am looking to set up the 9100f chip with GIGABYTE GA-B365M-D3H LGA 1151 and the Vengeance 2x8gb kit same as yours, with plans down the road to up the chip to a 9th gen i5 or i7 in a couple years.

Hoping it all worked well for you!
