Can I give away a free game from Newegg?

I just bought the MSI GTX 960 graphics card for my son, which it says it will come with a free game download. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. My son isn't interested in the game (he's 10). I don't even have the computer built yet to download it anyway.

My question: When I get the code in the email, can I give it away? Or will the game be tied to my email address or something, which would prohibit it from being transferable?

I'm sorry if it's a silly question. This will be our first PC (I have a Mac, but not for gaming) so I don't know how the game downloads work. I'd rather it go to someone who wants it than let it go to waste.

you should just receive an email with a download code. shouldn't be tied to any email address or anything, just a steam account when you activate it. so you should be able to give it away just fine, or even sell it.

u'll just be given a key for the game it can be activated from any other PCs

Thanks for the reply! That is what I figured, but I wanted to be sure before I offer it to someone and it doesn't work.
