Hey I have heard that that you can ground yourself by touching any unpainted part of your computer case to prevent electrostatic discharge. The problem with that is that every part of my computer case is painted black including the metal parts of my case. The screws to screw my power supply into my case are also black. The only thing in my computer case that is unpainted metal is my i/o shield. So what I'm trying to ask is if I touch my i/o shield will it ground me to prevent electrostatic discharge getting to any of my components in my computer when working on it? Please respond. Thanks.

LOL I had to laugh !!!

Out of countless computers ive built, and believe me when I tell you its well in its 100s, ive have never ever grounded myself and never killed a single component due to ESD.
