So, I've converted my laptop into a desktop due to it's battery issues. But now I'm losing that dual monitor quality of life. Will my laptop be able to run a second monitor? (I'm gonna use a smaller laptop as another monitor)
I intend to use one monitor as a primary for gaming and the second is more so I don't have to physically tab out.

My laptop's specs are:
*Intel Core i7-4510U CPU @ 2.00GHz (4CPUs)
*NVIDIA GeForce 840M
*8GB RAM

My monitor is a HP 22fw full HD IPS backlit monitor and my laptop is a Dell Inspiron 3542. If you're talking about my smaller laptop, then that's a Lenovo Miix 510.

You cannot use another laptop's screen as a second monitor, since those laptops (like most of them) does not have a video input, just video outputs.
The Lenovo Miix 510 could support dual monitors with either a USB-C to HDMI Multi-Monitor Adapter or a USB-C to DP Multi-Monitor Adapter.
You will need two monitors with HDMI or DP connections.
