I need to do 3D modeling for a game and test that game on the same machine. Could I get a reseasably priced Quadro ($400) and a nicer Geforce GTX 760 on the same MB with a dual monitor setup? I could have my 3DSMax, Maya and PS workspaces on the Quadro monitor for the redraw speed and playtest the game and edit animations and video on the other for the higher framerate.
I'm thinking that dual cards must be the same product but thought that I should check.

Nope! You can not run two different cards. They will fight each other because they have different drivers ETC.
You can have two of the exact same cards. You can run them in SLI. (ATI Crossfire)
You can only use one GPU is they are different.
If you get two of the same cards makes sure your motherboard supports SLI or Crossfire.
For SLI and Crossfire you will need a big PSU too.
Happy Computing!
