Can I have two different graphics cards in one PC? and how?

Hello,
I have a GTX 960 Strix by Asus (OC 2GB GDDR5)
And also I have a Gigabyte GT 730 (2GB GDDR5).

Can I put my GT 730 in the PC so I can have better performance?


I also have an Intel i5-3470 CPU

You can run them in the same system and set the 730 as a physx gpu but it will only help in the few games that support it. In other games it will do nothing. Other than physx all it will give you is the ability to run more monitors.

SLI only works with identical cards, but you may be able to use one as physics card. Just stick in in and see. what the NVIDIA control panel says.

it's actually not a good idea to use both as they ain't sli compatible and if u have a lower end psu it will only be under powering one of ur components...

Just because they aren't SLI compatible doesn't make it a bad idea to use them in the same system. This is done all the time for multi-monitor setups.

you could, but i think you'd need to find a driver revision that supports both (i've had a case where a new driver dropped support of an older card, so i had to use a previous driver to capture them both)

a better idea is to use dual cards, one nvidia and one amd, so that you can pick the one that the game works with best. this works even better if your monitor has two digital inputs (like DVI + HDMI) so that you can switch it right from the monitor

yes but depends on his psu..Like I said if he has a cheap one it would be useless..If he has a good one then he can take advantage of it ..

Both cards use the same driver and the latest driver supports the 7xx series, as for power the GDDR5 version of the 730 uses about 25w.

didn't say that 730 requires a lot power said that what's if his power supply is on edge while powering the 960
