Hey I just built my first pc and wanted some advice here.
I'm using the Zotac 3080 Amp holo , I downloaded the firestorm app to mess with the rgb and fan settings. Come to find out firestorm is not saving custom fan curves.
I'm thinking about downloading MSI afterburner.

My questions are:
  1. Can I have both of them downloaded at once but only use 1 at a time ? Firestorm for rgb and Afterburner to control the GPU.
  2. If I uninstall firestorm will it set my rgb back to the default settings ?

Sorry if these are noob questions completely new to this.

Solution
My guess is it will depend on how well they're programmed. I had Afterburner and Radeon Settings, both 'overclocking' utilities and they worked OK although changes with one wouldn't always register with the other. I decided it wasn't worth the oddness so I dropped Afterburner.

Also, Afterburner has an 'active' control (it constantly monitors the fan speed and readjusts if it's straying from the profile you program) for maintaining fan profiles that interfere with AMD's already somewhat buggy fan control. That leads to even stranger fan behavior. I think that's one reason I've read that when using Afterburner it's better to do a 'driver only' install of the AMD video drivers (so no Radeon Settings overclock utility).

I think...

I think you'll have to experiment with uninstalling that Firestorm app to see if it leaves the RGB settings in place. It's not that hard to just re-install if it doesn't.

Yeah I'll give that shot my only concern is that Firestorm is a bit of dumpster fire right now people reporting that RGB gets disabled sometimes when try to install it.
