Can I hook a laptop up to a PC?

I want both systems to share memory access. Ideally I'd have the laptop run as a second monitor while its storage is used as an extension of the PC so while at home I run everything from the pc but can still use the laptop portably without having to transfer files back and forth. Is that possible?

Windows 10.

If you know which files that only are stored on the PC's drives you want to access when you are somewhere else using the laptop, you can save them to one of the cloud storage options, and access them from the laptop (assuming you have internet access while using the laptop away from home).
i can't think of any way to let 2 systems share memory.

does not work that way at all unless there is some dark corner of pc hardware that i've never heard of.

don't believe you can share the laptop monitor either. they don't usually have an input on them only outputs. you could use the pc monitor as a second one for the laptop easy enough though.

You can share folders to share storage. The other pcs on the network can be accessed through network in the windows explorer. I don't think you mean to share memory (ram) which is impossible. The laptop monitor can't be used as a second monitor but also the wording on that seems confusing. I think sharing is what you'd want as you can still have the portability of the laptop but use files off the desktop.

Define "memory". Do you mean hard drive storage (HD) or random access memory (RAM). If it's the former you are better off buying what's called a "NAS" (network attached storage) device and letting both your laptop and your desktop store remotely on that. But there's no instance in which two PCs can share RAM.

Sorry, I meant HD storage.

You can share folders (drive space) in either direction. This is a very common setup.
But when you leave the house with the laptop, files that exist on the desktop will not be available.

Using the laptop as a "second monitor" is a whole other thing.
