Hi,

yes you can install hard drives are not memory dependent.

Although, if you are using a widows 7 64 bit, you should install 2 more gb, it will help windows to be more responsive
Without you providing the actual model there's no way for anyone to know for sure. But for pretty much any PC less than 10 years old, you should be fine with that. Newer/larger drives are much faster than old ones, so I can't see how it'd slow anything down.

Just be sure to check what connections your motherboard has. If it only has the old ribbon cables, you won't be able to plug in a SATA drive (what all 2Tb drives are).

If the motherboard has SATA ports, you can almost certainly use a 2TB hard disk with it because it supports 48-bit LBA. However unless the motherboard supports UEFI BIOS, 2TB is the size limit, unless you run with a software overlay, like the kind Seagate provides free for its hard disks. For motherboards without SATA ports, 48-bit LBA support became common with BIOSes starting about a dozen years ago, but you'll need some sort of SATA adapter, either a plug-in adapter (quality varies considerably) or a PCI SATA controller. All of the latter controllers based on VIA or Silicon Image chips support 2TB hard disks.
