Can I install a 64 bit processor in Acer Aspire One model D255E-1428?

I have an acer aspire one netbook with an Intel atom processor inside. I believe this is a 32 bit processor. Can I install a 64 bit processor in this netbook?

Well, from what I've found. The CPU that is in your Acer is a 1.5-GHz Intel Atom N550 which is 64-bit already.

I am almost sure all the netbook Atom cpus are a part of the board(soldered in).

In that case, no upgrade to the cpu is possible.

Please use something like cpu-z to see exactly what cpu you have.

The Atom CPU are soldered into the board. You can not upgrade them. I used to have an Acer Aspire One and I was only able to upgrade the memory and the hard drive. If you can slap an SSD and a 2 GB stick of RAM in there you will be able to play World of Warcraft on low settings🙂
