Hi, i want to install a Nvidia geforce gtx 650 Ti : http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-650ti Onto my Intel h61 Motherboard. Model: Aspire MC605

Graphic interface: Version: PCI-Express, Link with x16 max supported x16.

At the moment i have a Nvidia gt 620 and i am realy looking for a upgrade. So i found the GTX 650 ti.. The only problem is that i have no idea if i can install this into my computer. I hope i provided as much information as needed to solve my problem!

Thanks!

Solution
Yes, you can.. however, you have to remove your CPU cabinet open and then remove the old card and place the new card...

also keep in mind the PSU.. it may be of some concern here and now..
Yes you can. However, you might also have to upgrade your PSU as Acer says that the system power is 200 watts..

http://mm.acer.com/ac/en/MM/content/model-datasheet/DT.SM1ST.033

whereas, gtx650ti needs atleast 400 watts PSU.

you can get this one..

However, if you can specifically point out which chipset here, it would be great..

Hey man! Thanks so much for answering! I have a Intel ivy bridge, LPCIO: it8728, Intel core i5 -3350p 3.10 GHz..
From the link u posted: http://ark.intel.com/products/series/70402/Intel-Desktop-Boards-with-Intel-H61-Express-Chipset i have no idea wich one i have.. i'm sorry but i can't find any info telling me wich one it is ( i use CPU-Z)
If that is not enough info i can PM u a screenshot of the program.

Thanks!

So just to round up this wole thing, i first need to buy a new PSU, then i can upgrade my GFX card.
And i will be able to run it without problems..?
I don't want to bother u any more, because i know i am at the moment, but i don't know much about ''tech''
So it's always great to be sure of everything before u buy something 😛

Thanks so much for your help! Have a great day! :)

You are correct..

You can run it without any problem..

No problem mate.. I'm happy to help here.. :)

You can take the PSUs I linked up there.. then go for the upgrade.. :)

Oh about replacing the graphic card, just remove any screws to it.. maybe one or two will be present like the picture below..

and when replacing, there will be a latch, make sure you lift it gently and then remove the gpu, I broke mine.. that's why you cannot see it... and that's how I learnt it.. 😛

Just be careful...
