Bought a Radeon R9 290x and installed it on my EVGA P55V, and the fans run, but I get no output to monitor. I checked connection, updated BIOS, Uninstalled old drivers, everything! Is it just that my motherboard can't handle it??
Thanks guys, but I figured it out. Apparently I was trying to use either the 8 OR the 6 pin connector, and that led to nothing. Found someone who had the same issue, rerouted power from a 1 to 2 to from the fan power, to the card, and then to the fan again, and it worked.
As Reedo_43 points out, the power the graphics card gets is important but so is the location of your video output cable... it is currently plugged into the graphics card and not the motherboard (just to cover the obvious)
