Hello, so I just built my pc and I had a 500GB SSD which I am using as my boot drive. I also have a 1tb WD Blue hdd in my old pc that I used as my boot drive (in the old pc) I didn't uninstall anything and it has windows installed on it. I wanted to install that hdd in my new computer but not sure if its gonna be ok to do that. I want to know if I can install it and then wipe it right away? Thanks

Solution
Yes, you can do that. You will just need to make sure you are booting from your primary SSD boot drive rather than the added 1TB hdd. I usually hook it up and boot, and if it boots to the wrong one restart and enter bios to change boot priority to boot to the one you want. It usually boots to the one you already have unless you move around the SATA cables on the motherboard..

And then how do I remove all the storage on that hard drive after booting it up?

Before you fit the drive, check the SSD is selected as first boot device in BIOS, that SHOULD ensure the system boots off the SSD rather than the old HDD.
And don't forget you must erase ALL the partitions on the old drive, Windows creates restore and system partitions during the install process so it's essential to erase them to avoid issues.

To delete everything you open Window's Disk Management and format the drives and partitions from there. Then you can delete the extra partitions that Windows created along with the main partition and make one large main partition for the whole drive.
