Can I install a wifi network adapter into my pc?

Hello. Like the title says I need to install a wifi network adapter (pci-e x1) into a computer that does not have that specific slot. It's your run of the mill stock dell motherboard inside a dell optiplex 780 DT. I believe it's socket 755 with an E5500/SLGTJ processor. Here's another picture that may help better: https://www.ebay.com/i/282654453735?chn=ps

So i had just a wifi adapter (usb) one that died. So basically i use my android phone as adapter. Router to Phone to Desktop. You need USB tethering app from GooglePlay and connect your phone to PC. Works for me. Speeds are the same. Thats my Solution.
