The Gigabyte Z170HD3P motherboard is the most budget piece of hardware left in my pc. It only has 6 small chokeds for the cpu power phases, a bent pin on the usb3.0 internal header, and only has 2 case fan headers so I have to use y splitters. 🙁 The Asus Maximus IX would be the board i'd probably get. It's sli ready which my HD3P is not.
Would there be any bios issues or will it be backwards compatible with my 6600k?

Solution
Yeah, it works just fine, the only problem is that Windows is tied to your motherboard. Don't get the Maximus IX Hero, they're overpriced and just give you fancy lights.
If there's nothing inherently wrong with your current motherboard, why bother swapping?
4000MHz RAM is silly, 3000MHz is the most you'll ever need, and that's really only largely for show, it improves CPU OCing by a tiny bit and gives you maybe a 1fps increase in 99% of games.
