expect it to perform like a 1040, if that makes sense.
Makes perfect sense. Too many people expect to turn a medium laptop into a hotrod desktop.
What people don't realize is that when plugging an eGPU in over USB or Type c the data it sends out has to travel to the CPU, the way it does that is through the southbridge (normally) which is very slow, so you want to use a port that's connected over the PCI-E bus, much much faster. Even then its like running a GPU in a 1x slot on a motherboard, not the best since those cables can't physically care more data.
well i wanna get that enclosure bcuz i have a y50-70 which has a pretty good cpu and not bad ram. But i fcked up the main gpu, the 860M and now im stuck with an intel hd4600. And im planning to get a pc for the long run, so if i get the gpu now, ill be able to atleast play something while i save up to a pc
