Hi, I got a new GTX 1080 but my existing rig with an Asus Z77 Extreme 4 and i5 3570K is not up to the task. My CPU is pretty much on 100% when playing Battlefield 1. What is the biggest chip that I can fit in my current mobo and can I install the 6700K? Many thanks.

Solution
Nope that is the wrong socket. You need the 1151 socket to support the 6700k. Here is a build if suggestion.

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($318.99 @ NCIX US)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($34.88 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus Z170-P ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($103.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws 4 Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($79.99 @ Newegg)

The Asus Z170 Pro Gaming is the overall best compromise between performance, features and price.
as is the Asus Z170-A, however it features a lesser quality audio chip

boards below are budget
boards above are premium/enthusiast (like the MAXIMUS series)

I am playing on 1440p but have not OC the CPU yet. Will try and see how far I get. Are you playing on GTX 080?
