Can I install Mac OS onto my hard drive partition?

So yesterday I partitioned my hard drive and I was wondering if I would be able to install Mavericks on to the new partition? I'm pretty sure you can and then select to boot to the Mac OS in the BIOS but I'm not 100% sure. Also, if anyone has a link to any good websites/videos that explain how to do it, that would be great.

Yes, but it would be better to have a separate partition for each OS. ..just cleaner and easier. The below guide holds true even though the versions are a little dated.

Okay, thank you. I have a partitioned hard drive, what I mean is I have the Windows C drive as well as a 60GB partition which I am planning on installing Mavericks onto if possible.
