Hi,
I have an R7 260X GPU and I came across the AMD Catalyst Omega driver. Can I install that driver to use with my 260X, and if so, how do I do this properly?
Thanks

The 260x is compatible. You just download the package from AMD's website and install it.
If anything fails or if you want to be extra sure it installs correctly, use Display Driver Uninstaller to remove any trace of previous drivers.

Don't expect miracles out of it tho...you still own a medium-tier GPU; better drivers (usually) mean an averagely better performance, but it's not going to provide an incredibly huge boost.

I use the Display Driver Uninstaller after I install the Omega drivers right?

No, you use it before.
When you delete everything via DDU and reboot into normal mode, Windows will automatically use a generic video driver and set your resolution to the lowest possible.
After that, you install Omega drivers.

I'd like to repeat, although, that using DDU is entirely NOT mandatory, or more precisely is necessary only if you're switching from Nvidia to AMD ( or viceversa, albeit impossible in your case). If you're just updating from an older driver version, it is merely an extra step to be absolutely sure it'll run as intended, or a way to fix everything up if something goes wrong.

I though it was clear enough, but I'll bite....

Since you now own a 260x and didn't state any information about previously owned GPUs, you either are upgrading your current drivers to Omega or switched from an Nvidia to an AMD solution.
This way, it's logically impossible that you're switching from AMD to Nvidia, albeit it would still require you to use DDU.

Okay, thanks for the clarification :)
