Hello!I upgraded my computer which has a motherboard P45XE and a c2d e8400.I installed a gtx 650 and 4 extra gigabytes of ddr2 ram.I already had 2 inside the case.I wanted to put all of them so i get 6 gigabytes of ram (motherboard supported). My question is,can I make the 2 different RAM sets run together at the same time? The 1 set is Adata vitesta extreme edition ddr2 800+
CL:4-4-4-12 2T Voltage 2.0V~2.1V The other set is Mushkin silverline PC2-6400 5-5-5-18
Can I connect them by default or I have to change voltages and stuff so both sets are set to 4-4-4-12 ?

Solution
It is not suggested, however more than likely it will work.

The faster kit will automatically be defaulted to run the same speed as the slower kit.

So,I can connect them by default without changing anything? The shop from where i bought the RAM said that only the newer 4gb of RAM will work.

Both are the same type of RAM (PC26400 = DDR2 800) so yes, they in theory will both work together.

I know on old DDR2 RAM it was more sensitive than the newer technology, so I definitely can't guarantee anything.

But, more than likely if you drop the other chips in, the computer will sort everything out.

OK,another thing too. When I installed the RAMs,I first put them in the same-coloured 1 and 3 slots. The PC failed to work. Then I put them to slots 2 and 4 and it worked. What was wrong?

I changed slots and it worked 😀 thats what i say.I am going to try that first thing tomorrow.I hope it works.I really want to play cod ghosts multiplayer.....
