Question Can I install Windows 10 on this system ?

Am i still not able to install Windows 10 on a PC with a 12700k CPU and DDR5 RAM?

I was under the impression when I first built my old 12th gen system I was only able to install win 11?

Yes.

Assuming your hardware is in working order and you have a valid Windows 10 installer and license.

What exactly gave you the impression you could not?

I think there was a issue on some systems where you had to go into bios and turn off the E-core's or windows 10 install had glitches.

After install of Windows 10 turn on those cores again. Been a couple of years since I read that so ?

You can install windows 10 but windows 10 is worse at handling the two different core types so it could have worse performance under some conditions.
Also windows 10 is going end of life in less than a year so you will be left with an unsupported OS.
It's not that you can't, it's that it's not worth it.
