Can I just install service pack 2 with IE7

I have Windows Vista home basic with IE7 Dell inpiron 531 computer desk top, I just recovered just updated code 8007045D and KB955020] Kb955020 witch I bielive is service pack 1 , .can I go right to sevice pack 2 files toMicrosoft update?

what I need to know if I install service pack 2 will it cause any problems because I have IE 7 . every time as web site suggests I upgrade for free to IE9 ,when I try it says your system needs service pack 2 so can I install service pack 2?

Windows updates often need to be installed in order. When you do a system recovery you lose a lot of updates so yes, install sp2. In fact, try to install everything you want. Some items may fail until others are installed so it usually takes 2 or 3 tries to get up to date.
Try not to use system restore as an easy out, it is problematic in the long run.

ill go to microsoft down loads and install SP2 then I should be able to download IE8 or IE9
