So I just ordered some 16 gb of ram, much better then my current ram, i still got 16 gb but they go only at 2133hz and were the cheapest on the market, my question is do i really need to replace the used slots? Maybe i can use the old rams for having tabs open and the other ones for gaming? (i have 4 ram slots)

Solution
  1. No, you can't pick and choose which RAM sticks are used for what applications.
  2. Mixing RAM often fails completely.
  3. Mixing slower RAM and faster RAM means that, if it works at all, the faster RAM will run at the speed of the slower.
