Can a Core i7 3770K w/16GB 2133MHz DDR3 RAM combined with two GTX 680's max out Metro 2033 and it's future sequel "The Last Light" on 1920x1080 with playable framerates?

I heard that Metro is the most demanding PC game ever made to date. No other PC game will put more stress on your hardware than Metro 2033.

Should I get 30-60 FPS?

Witcher 2 is as demanding, if not more demanding :).

But you should be able to max out Metro 2033:

YIKES!

Metro really brings even hardware to it's knees.

Does Metro take advantage of cards that have more than 2GB of VRAM? Should I get the 4GB version of the GTX 680?

Yes your pc will own metro 2033 just don't use 4MSAA and i bet you will get a minimum of 50 fps at 1080p. I can max metro with a i7 2600 4.2 ghz 2x gtx 560 2gb in sli and 8 gb of 1333 mhz ddr3 ram and i gen a minimum of 47 fps. Your have a better pc than me so i think you will be able to get solid 60 fps most of the time if you don't use 4MSAA.
