i just wanna learn the working of overclocking GPU and do it in practice. the power limit slider in MSI afterburner is what that kept me pondering over from the day i started watching videos and researching about overclocking. if i max my power limit will it decrease the life of my video card? will it cause any hardware issues? i want to overclock my core clock as much as possible without having to touch my voltage and its said that increasing power limit will give more space for pushing up core clock further boosting FPS overall. so, should i do it?

Being able to increase your voltages to maximum heavily relies on the rest of your system specs. Voltages do not necessarily shorten GPU life but having your voltages too high for your system to handle can result in very high temperatures which will overtime decrease the lifespan. High temps are considered above 70C.

i'm not going to touch my core voltage as they say it may reduce GPU life but now i'm interested in only the power limit slider. can i max it?

Yes you can.
That limit is still set by the the manf. So no problem maxing it. But unless you manually oc, most of the time, just raising power limit will not mean higher clocks.
