I am starting a build and I want to run Windows 10 and dual boot with a Linux distro. I would like to know if I can take the the SSD that's going to be in the new build and connect it to the old system and migrate the OS to it before I install it in the new PC before completing the buld or should I let the system boot first with no OS installs and then install the SSD with the OS on it if I'm ale to migrate? the old HDD would be a Hitachi HDP 725025GLA380 and the SSD is a SK hynix SL308 the 500gig version.
I should note that I will also have a WD Black Series 1tb mass storage drive in the new system as well.

You don't need a new license with Windows 10. You didn't need one with Windows 8, or 7 for that matter. As long as this isn't an OEM version of Windows, and you still have the license key, just clone the drive. Chances are, you won't even have to reactivate.
