Hi,

After upgrading my motherboard i purchased 8gb 2400hz and i was thinking if i could mix then with my old 8gb 1600mhz . That is a bad idea?

Solution

Yes absolutely! I have 2x4GB 1600 RAM myself and I game everyday no problem. 1600mhz will be more than enough and to be honest there is not much difference between high speed ram and lower speed ram when it comes to gaming

Well, Basically my pc is only for gaming, i mean, i',m a casual gamer (2/3h max everyday) but i like to not worry about performance.

Actually my rig is a evga oc 780 + i7 4770 + Asus Max Formula VI.

1600mhz is suficient for me right? i mean, if yes, i was thinking to go to the store and trade the 2400mhz for 8gb 1600mhz .

its a good idea?

Its best to get same exact ones, but I think it should work if they have the same timings.
So yes, you can mix them up, no matter the size, color, race, as long as timings are the same.

I'm from Europe , so no newegg for me :(

Also, we can handle back any product in 48h for any reason, ( don't know how that works on US ). But i allready traded the memory,
