Can i mix ram brands

I have 8gb ddr3 1600 ram right now .
I have one stick of 8gb 2rx4 pc3l-10600r-9-12-e2 ram, can i buy the same type from samsung on ebay and make it work.

As long as your motherboard manufacturer has it listed as a support memory type. It should work

mixing ram is a hit or miss. even the same make and model sometime doesn't work.

I'd be careful with RAM sticks on ebay also btw. That is also hit or miss.
