[SOLVED] Can I mix RAM?

Hello, I have a (MSI gf63 thin 10scxr) windows 10 it currently has 8 GB of RAM . I have 2 broken unused laptops, and found some ram one is 2 GB and one is 4 GB they look different and I am going to use the one that fits I am going to post a pic. Will it shorten the life of the laptop?

That is DDR3.

Mixing RAM is more than just 'does it fit'.

DDR2/3/4....all compositely different. Will not physically fit.

Different RAM sticks, of the same DDR version, still may not work.

Put it in.
If it works, great.
If not, send it back for a refund.

Mixing RAM is a crapshoot. Any RAM not bought as a specific set may not work together.
