Hi,

I had 6GB of Corsair RAM in my PC and I decided to upgrade to 12GB.

So I now have,

12GB Corsair (3x4GB)
1600MHz
9-9-9-24 latency
Speed: 1600MHz
Timing: 9-9-9-24
Voltage: 1.65V

The problem I have now is that I don't know what to do with the old RAM. I have tried to put it in my Gigabyte EX58-UD5 board but it can't see it.

Here is the spec of the old RAM,

6GB Corsair (3x2GB)
1333Mhz
9-9-9-24
Speed: 1333Mhz
Timing: 9-9-9-24
Voltage: 1.50V

I read somewhere that you can use FLEX mode in situations like this but it only applies to Single or Dual channel configs.

Would my best option be to sell the RAM?

Thanks

That's what I was thinking but it's a shame to waste it.

I need to up the RAM again so it would have been nice to use it.

This leads me onto my next question.

If I want to up the RAM again.

Will it be best to buy the same 12GB kit?

I've still got three slots left and the MB supports a max of 24GB.

Thanks
